When Does Ramadan Start and End in Canada

Canadian people follow Toronto Hilal Committee and, FCNA/ISNA (Fiqh Council of North America/Islamic Society of North America) for the the announcement of first day of Ramadan and for last day as well. If weather remains clear, first day starts with visibility of Ramadan moon on the last day of Shaban; which either has 29 days or maximum of 30 days. And Ramadan mark its end when its complete its 30 days or the moon of Shawwal becomes visible on 29th day of Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month of Islamic calendar, known for being the month in which Muslims practice the fast on daily basis from Dawn until the sun sets. Islam is the 2nd largest religion of Canada after Christianity, having 1.1 million muslims which makes 3.5% of the entire Canada population.

In the same month along with others, Muslims make sure to do everything to help the needy people, thus, often donate to the charities and needy people around as well as feed the poor people. Fasting is something very important in the same month as it shows great love and respect for the God and considered the only way to physically and spiritually connected with the god. Not only this, Muslims believe that it is a form of process which helps in eliminating all the bad habits and thinking, including- tea, smoking, alcohol and food throughout the day.
