When Does Ramadan Start In India

Indian People observe the first day of Ramadan month by following Hijri Committee of India and by Local Sighting of moon crescent. Thus each year, the probability of variation in starting date of Ramadan exist and may vary city-to-city, state-to-state. Though it can not be announce exactly in much advance because of the lunar calendar. It is highly recommended that you should get in touch with your local mosque to ensure when will be the first Ramadan in your area and double check the prayer and sehr-o-iftar timings.

Islam is the second largest religion of India, having 172 million muslims which makes 15% of the entire India population. Ramadan is also pronounced as "Ramazan", "Ramzan", or "Ramadhan" in India. It is the time to remember why is the God created us and remember the good things which we have been given. after fasting we realize how those poor people suffer, because they dont have anything to eat. So that make us help them. by fasting, we learn to be patient and to control our self and our body. during this month of Ramadan, Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said, the doors of the Heaven are open and the doors of the hell are close, and the devils are chained. This helps us to see ourselves as we really are, not under the influence of unseen evils forces.
